After my week, I needed a Friday!
So glad I'm not an NP at the Hotel, because there was all sort of debates this week about them and other midlevels. The doctors are restless, and they are starting to irritate our midlevel staff.
Happily, I got all my work done and I escaped. Dahey, Bubba and I went to our local fish fry with friends. It was fun.
Hope you enjoy your weekend wherever you are!

I am just curious about your feelings of being referred to as a "mid-level provider". I find the term rather offensive. Yes, I realize that I don't have the number of years that a physician has under my belt. I do, however, give as good if not better care than a doctor. There are good and bad apples in all bunches but I feel that medical provider should the blanket description for all of us.

I'm not an NP, but I say "midlevel" ironically, because, yes, we do have some NPs who totally kick a4% and a few providers (MDs) should take notice. I totally agree.
This NP: He/she is always the most organized, the most inquisitive, and the most patient-centered. Patients who refuse to talk to anyone go to this NP first.
I deal with the "just a nurse". As I told a patient recently, "Sure you can have 'just a nurse' or just a 'board certified in 3 areas' (two rehab) nurse.
Go ahead and pick. Guess who they chose...made my day.
