I feel like an old lady reading this article, or perhaps, rightly so, like a person from another century. This is a non-nursing publication, but I hate to say this could have been about some folks (and some spots) at the Hotel.
I know startup companies (from reading, and hearing from my friend's kids who have one, not experience) often allow booze at work. That's not too shocking, probably because I did once work in an environment where we talked of imbibing all day, and we actually did it after work ("product testing").
However, who'd a thunk that you'd have to tell people not to have sex in public parts of your office building.
Different strokes. Ugh!
Stay tuned.

Happy St. Patrick's Day weekend
Here in RehabLand, I'll be wearin' the green and cranking out a load or two of Irish goodies, like soda bread and corned beef for the up and coming holiday here in town. Three words: parades, corned beef and cabbage.
And just maybe (wink wink) raising a glass of some other nice Irish beverage or two, I leave you with this toast:
"May the lilt of Irish laughter
lighten every load.
May the mist of Irish magic
shorten every road...
And may all your friends remember
all the favors you are owed!"

Wild (and wet) Wednesday
No, it wasn't raining, but the humidity was so heavy this morning, it looked like fog burning off. I walked a mile before 9AM and I thought I was going to have to wring out my shirt by the time I got to my destination. Thankfully, I hitched a ride back and picked up my car from the oil change place.
They recommended tires on the left and maybe tires on the right. The tire place kindly pointed out that the ones on the right were dry rotting. What does this mean? The Wild Bullet I drive got a brand new set of tires and an alignment thrown in. Happily, Ye Old Tyre Shop is right next to a strip mall...and a couple of good restaurants. So while it was early, I decided to get lunch before they finished.
Then it was back to working on the final project. I saved it in some obscure directory. I thought I deleted it. Oh thank you patron saint of lost causes! I really thought I toasted my three hours of work when I turned off the laptop to come home.
Now, I'm just going to relish every minute of freedom I have before I go back to work...me and a cold beverage
Stay tuned....

Flashback
Once upon a time, I carried a laptop wherever I went for work. Every so often, I went to meetings with my team in restaurants. What better way to see what was happening out in the world.
Met up with a couple of members of the software madness team today for lunch...who brought laptops and met in a restaurant, some with nice, cold frosty beverages. I miss the people but not the neuroses of some of our customers.
Now if JCAHO would let us have beverages at the nurses' station....ahh!
More later...

What's next? Beer?
Had a good chuckle over the latest, beverage-inspired political group:
