It's come and gone.
A little fire, a little ice, a lot of interesting stuff. How many fire alarms did we have today? I have no idea because I stopped counting after the first four. Old buildings are interesting.
I just wish the doc who was in my meeting hadn't fallen asleep with boredom. Dad (the chief of his section) made no efforts to keep him awake. I was the bad nurse, as I commented when he went by, "Hope I didn't disturb your nap too much." Like an insolent child, he glared at me. I really wanted to say, "I have lots of practice with a little kid." but I was nice.
It wasn't all bad, though. My husband even got me lunch today on his day off. I worked with some really nice patients. I felt like I got things done.
The day ended, and it was beautiful outside. It was worth the wait.
Enjoy your weekend, wherever you are!

Nuggets for July 17
Here are a few goodies I've run across on the internet lately. Enjoy!
A little explosive
Always provocative, Rolling Stone may ignite a few opinions all over the place with their cover photo and story of a Boston Marathon bomber.
Wired up
AHA's survey of Health Care's Most Wired hospitals is out and to no surprise, the Veterans Health Administration made the list.
If you were wondering
How those folks can count all the participants in uprisings, revolutions, etc., the good folks at the BBC have an article about that very topic.
No contest
Maybe if MBAs were licensed like RNs or other healthcare personnel, they'd make the most trusted list, and not appear in an article like this one about writing their own recommendations. I'd love for my old clinical instructor, Nurse Battle Ax (a former Navy nurse) to talk to one of them.

A few more days...
Yes, I'm counting the days when I can escape the Hotel Rehab for a couple of fun conferences....
41 days until my travelling partner and I hit the road for conference #1
Please note, we will not be attending this conference, but it looks interesting!
and...
a mere 151 days when we roll the roadtrip map out again for conference #2, which is in that conference haven of all time, no, not Chicago...Las Vegas.
If only we could leave the bosses at home for both of them!
