Rain, rain, go away!

The weather magicians, er, meteorologists, haven't had much luck lately in the predictions department.
It's rained so much here in RehabLand, that the grass can't handle it any more. Neither can the trees.

I have to rethink my vacation plans and just get some wood and start building an ark.

More to come...

Welcome spring

As I write this, it thundering very loudly. The daffodils that were up and showy yesterday, are cowed beneath the rains of today.

I woke up this morning to a chorus of sneezes from Bubba. Dahey just snored away as usual.

Every tree in our neighborhood has buds erupting. So we're keeping all the windows shut tight.

In RehabLand, it's another day in early spring.

More to come...

Signs of the season

I always know when a certain tree is really pollinating in RehabLand.

Bubba went outside with Dahey and WildDog to wait  for me to come back from the store with the ice cream and his eyes are already red and swollen.

One genetic trait I wish I could have avoided passing along...

Merry Christmas to me

No it's not a mistake. I still have the Christmas tree in my office, but it is put away. I put away a lot of stuff in the office, since I got my Christmas wishes fulfilled recently. The office that's as old as some of my Generation X coworkers, finally is getting painted. Yes, some of the retirement age painters at the Hotel remember painting offices that "Government Beige" (their words about the color of my office) color in their early careers.

So Rex and Mike, the two former occupants of my office space will be invited to a "officewarming party" as soon as the painters are done.

On top of that, I also got some equipment I need for another project. We have a support person in our area who deserves a medal for what she does. Suzy has been around forever, and really does know where everything is. Thanks to her and a lovely lady in another area named Rose, I got my supplies. I've been trying to get them since I started my work in the SU months ago.

Thank you Santa. It's all just what I wanted...even if it's late. Those elves are the best!

More to come...

Misspent youth

I spent a good chunk of my free time at university, sitting under a sycamore tree, propped up on the luxurious green grass, letting the wind blow through my hair.

When I wasn't in the breeze outside,  I jammed my Walkman in my room to all sorts of stuff, including these guys, way back when...

A great end of day

So when you can't reach the people you need to via phone, just send e-mail...again and again. That was part of my day today. We'll see tomorrow if anyone responds.

It was a beautiful day here, and I was so glad I could escape for a few minutes into the sunshine. The humidity has disappeared for the moment and the afternoon was glorious.

Reminds me of those lazy days in college reading my books under a sycamore tree as the wind blew by...ahh! This time was even better at a table with a good book and a coffee.

More fun tomorrow...stay tuned!

It's almost over...

It's almost over, I keep telling myself, as I look at the tree I murdered for my class to print out all of the handouts, instead of reading them all online.

In mere weeks, I'll actually get a vacation from school...for about three weeks.

I am motivated! Motivated to get done.

Stay tuned...and note, no tree was murdered to post this, either. ;->
