I'm sure every patient will have one of their own if they only have to power it with urine.
Gives new meaning to drug testing and economical helpers at home.
Technology...who would have thought?
TGIF everyone! Enjoy every moment of this weekend. The fall leaves are still falling here in RehabLand.

Now for something different...
No poop this time (I could go on ad nauseum, but I won't), but when I walked toward the inpatient unit at the Hotel recently, I was met with the most foul smell of urine. Not everyone agrees that it's a sign of UTI, which is true, but some urine definitely isn't just smelly, it's overpowering.
Cleaning it up didn't get rid of it, and neither did the myriad of air fresheners used by several staff members.
Some things I just don't miss when I'm not at work.
That is all. More to come...

The world of science
Science is so amazing these days.
According to a recent BBC article, bladder cancer in men may be detectable by using a urine odor test. So, if you have folks with smelly urine, they could, according to researchers have cancer.
If smelly urine is not enough, how about those folks with the purple catheter bags?
Definitely a sight to be seen....stay tuned.

Oh, this song was rolling in my head around 10AM...
I don't care where we go/I don't care what we do
Just take me with you.
Sure thought that very thing this morning when I saw A. in the hall getting ready to leave.
Especially when I got back and I had to get five patients' urine specimens and escort one potentially unstable patient to our psych service.
TGIF everyone...whew!
