April showers do bring May flowers, but after those showers get mixed in with tornado watches and warnings, I get a little edgy. It fits the mood, though. I'm still a little melancholy after this week.
Thankfully, the latest tornado watch was called off so Bubba could go to his track meet, hang out and have fun while Dahey and I had a date night. We went to a neighborhood I grew up in (which has since become moderately gentrified) to a restaurant I've wanted to try. It was nostalgia: some things change and some things stay the same. Thankfully, the food was good, the beer was cold, and the various games were on the (baseball, hockey, etc.) TV so Dahey could follow along.
Since we were on a nostalgia trek, Dahey decided to drive to a shopping mall we walked in a lot while we were dating. A lot of stores are gone, but some old reliables got bigger. They even got an Apple Store in this particular mall. Which of course, made Dahey want a new phone. Thankfully, his problems can be resolved by sending his phone in for repair, which will be done this week (thank goodness!)
Now, I'm back to doing my volunteer homework. Sometimes this is a time-consuming activity, but other times, it's a lot of fun.
Enjoy your weekend wherever you are!

Random randomness
Today's Sunday Stealing. Here's my answers to the questions below. Head on over there and try them for yourselves!
How did you choose your baby's or pet's names?
WildDog came with his name. Bubba's name I picked out. I told Dahey to look at whatever name he liked but that since I was giving birth, I had the first right of refusal.
He's a smart man who figured out that "happy wife, happy life" thing early.
Have you ever been fishing?
Yes, many times. On land mostly, but a couple of times in a boat.
Have you ever had your national flag painted on your face?
No.
What makes you nostalgic?
Hearing old songs (those 1980s ones are nostalgic to me, kids!)
What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
Walk across a suspension bridge in Canada.
What fairy tale character would you most associate with?
Some days Robin Hood, other days, Snow White (always cleaning up something!)
What's the worst piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Don't follow your dreams. (really bad) You just take a longer route to get there.
If you had to describe yourself as a flavor, what would it be?
Chocolate (of course). Probably a nice, smooth dark chocolate. Some may say I'm bitter, but I'm just sweet enough for everyone else.
If you had to describe yourself as a car, what would it be?
A reliable sport edition sedan. Works well with a lot of people, safe, gets you where you are going. Looks nice. And has enough oomph to roll with the bigg'uns when needed.
Do you think laughing at someone else's misfortune is wrong?
Yes, but as they say Karma's a b&*th!
