More fun with Sunday Stealing

Here's this week's meme: Random Randomness part 3. I omitted the ones I don't like, so go on over and see for yourselves.

1) What room are you in?

The kitchen

2) Can you solve a rubix cube?
No.

3) Are you psychic in any way?

Not exactly. Have I had some seriously funky dreams and premonitions? Yes.

5) What's your favorite color?

Blue

6) What's your lucky number?
7

7) Do you have any chores that should be done now?

Laundry (just finishing right now).

8) Did you have a cherished childhood teddy bear or other toy?

Several, but they got worn out or destroyed when my brother put them outside.

9) What was the last thing you bought from a vending machine?

Soda

11) How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Too many.

13) If you were a super hero what powers would you have?
I like the cloak of invisibility, time travel and teleporting.

17) What would you do if you won the lottery?
Depends on how much money I won. Anything under $10 million, keep on working until my financial adviser and I get a plan together.

Over $10 million, I'm so out of there tomorrow (sorry Hotel folks: no offense, it's not you). Then I would take a round the world trip over the course of three months, then decide what I want to do with myself before my one year anniversary.

I would enjoy being retired so I could spend more time working with the charities I like to support now volunteering. One of my coworkers had an idea to work with rehab patients I'd like to explore in more detail.

18) Would you like to build/design your own house?

Yes, wanna see the plans? Sorry, they're still in my head, but include a backup power supply and lots of energy efficient things, HEPA filtration, and a whole house vacuum system. (That's why I'd need to win the lottery!)

19) Which form of public transport do you prefer?

Streetcar.

21) Can you juggle?

Literally, yes (about three things); figuratively, all the time.

More than a little

Sure, we can all do little things, but author J.K. Rowling's outing as the author of a recent crime novel will be a boon for a British charity for soldiers.

I wonder if this will pump the sales even more.

More later...

Working vacation

Around the house. Since I've been a busy grad school student in addition to work, I have been neglectful of my duties as chief housekeeper so it was time for an intervention. Yes, I finally buckled down, and decluttered my son's entire room (I left some stuff for him to do, though).

After that, I vacuumed, dusted and cleaned the floors. I also washed all the linens and curtains in the room. I will wash the windows before I go back to work if it doesn't rain (or I'll cure the drought with my window washing!)

Another fun task: bagging up, washing and distributing old stuff (clothes, toys, books) to one of the local charity thrift shops. Bubba doesn't want it--it's going to them. They are more than happy to sell off his stuff he no longer plays with for me. No craigslist, no weirdos coming to my house or meeting me in a nearby mall parking lot. So much simpler!

Today, I finished up some more cleaning and decluttering in my room. It's not completely done, but the start is better than what we had! So, so happy.

If only every vacation could be as productive as this one!

Stay tuned!

Dear Nationally Known Credit Card Company

Thank you for your fraud alert, just as I'm finishing up the Christmas donations online that I've finally had time to do. For the second year in a row, I got to call you and your representatives to get the okey-dokey to complete my online elf work.

I'm not upset, mind you, but maybe you could put in my profile the charities listed? I donated to them last year, too.

Thanks for keeping an eye out on me this time of year, especially when I run amok with donations to charity (which is what I save up all year to do). I appreciate someone looking out for my spending patterns.

And Merry Christmas to all of you in the land of cacti.

Sincerely,

RehabRN

A little light cynicism

Oh, it's the latest initiative...put everyone in a room, have them bring their lunches and talk. Yes, they've brought back the famous "lunch and learn" but not on any topics you want to learn about. (I'm just hoping most people aren't bringing this lunch along, or it will probably negate whatever they learn.)

No, our topic is, in a nutshell, "how do we get along and play well with others without acting like primadonnas." Guess we gotta start somewhere.

Thankfully, none of these are mandatory...and many are planned on my regularly scheduled day off. I'll be thinking about the stress relievers as I relieve my stress at home cleaning or at the salon getting my regularly scheduled services.

As they say, charity does really begin at home.
