I am more than familiar with the quotes mentioned in this article 30 things we hate to hear at work.
Please note that while I may ask for a second, I don't expect to get more than that. We know you're always way busier than the rest of the department, so, as my favorite old ER nurse says "Spare me".
Don't be spared. Read this and enjoy.
You might even be able to add some of these to your own special nursing unit Buzzword Bingo for some fun on Thanksgiving.
Have a happy Monday wherever you are! More later...

The Revenant
No, I was not mauled by a bear, but alas, I do realize that I've taken leave from here a wee bit too long.
Lots of stuff cooking, so I plan on adding some material soon.
The work of a rehab nurse is never done! Stay tuned.

Almost home
The office mate is at a conference. His/her previous office mates dropped off the rest of his/her stuff yesterday. Why people don't move EVERYTHING when they move is beyond me. I'm just surprised they haven't asked to change the locks yet.
We are still in a fishbowl with no window coverings (blinds, etc.) which means no patients in our treatment area. One of these days our interior design staff will get a clue.
I'm hoping that clue comes special delivery today.
The patients that pass do like coming in to look around. Most folks in wheelchairs can do a 360 in the space in front of our desks, which is nice.
It's nice to be almost home.

I just hope...
I don't kill my new office mate. Since I forgot to take some stuff into my office before the holidays, I dropped what I needed off. I noticed my helpful coworker moved stuff on my desk. Not because he/she needed to do something near my desk. I think it was "just because".
I admit I have OCD, but when someone moves around stuff on your desk, when essential equipment (i.e. your computer) hasn't even been moved by the IT staff (since most of them took off Friday, too), I get frustrated.
Needless to say, I moved it all back. I'll call my IT guy myself, since I saw my trouble ticket, i.e. the ticket to officially move, was not touched. My neighbor had no PC, either, and we have no connected phones.
This may take some getting used to at first. Thankfully, this person roams to our other clinics.
I'll be counting the days...
Stay tuned.

Far too much entertainment...
When I am not at work. This is not an endorsement, but I found this app because of Rob Fraser, a very nice Canadian.
Nothing like looking at stuff you can see at work and see the comments that are listed.

Labor day weekend
Well, the last, official holiday weekend of summer is finally here. It doesn't feel like it though.
The temperatures are still hot enough for Bubba to jump in Mr. Smith's pool down the road, and too hot to let WildDog lounge in the grass, lying in wait for the mailman.
I've been busy doing all the stuff I didn't get done yet since I got back from the conference. Labor Day really is a laboring holiday for me.
Enjoy your Labor Day whether you labor on the floor or at home. Will raise my cold, frosty glass for you all! Cheers.
Stay tuned!

So happy TGIF
Yes, so, so happy. Go to work, do work, get lunch and coffee, go to a meeting, come back and finish the day on an up note. Stuff actually gets done. I don't feel like I wasted my day sitting at the computer sending endless e-mails.
Joy, joy, joy!
Hope you all enjoy whatever the Flag Day weekend brings you.
More to come.

Just don't wanna...
I'm not in the mood to do homework.
Today is almost my Friday. To celebrate Bubba's spring break, I'm taking off part of it to have at least one small family get together and a long weekend.
One of these days my boss will figure out that 1) I don't work on the floor anymore, 2) he/she doesn't have to replace me with floor staff when I'm off (I do my own replacements, thanks) and consequently, 3) I ought to be able to take off when I want to do so AND I have coverage.
More to come...it's always something new and exciting every day.

Summertime
Yes, it's here again...hazy, hot, and humid.
Bubba's getting ready to go fishing with his kiddie pole with the scouts and Dahey and I are figuring out what has to get done before the heat of the day comes...to mow or not to mow. That is the question today.
And I decide to add a theme that looks a bit more summery, thanks to the new template designer in blogger. Has me wanting to hit the road again...maybe the boys will decide we need to take a little road trip.
More later...stay tuned.

An interesting quote
"If you foolishly ignore beauty, you will soon find yourself without it. Your life will be impoverished. But if you invest in beauty, it will remain with you all the days of your life."
--Frank Lloyd Wright, American architect
And with that, since Dahey thinks FLW is the bomb, we find another homeless antique to bring home.
One of these days, I'll win the lottery and put an addition on my house to accommodate all Dahey's beauties...I mean furniture and other assorted stuff in storage.

"Reports of my demise

Lots of stuff brewing as I'm wandering around a major Southern city sweating in the humidity that we usually get in my neck of the woods later.
Work was work, but more on that later. Gotta run to breakfast....stay tuned!
