A lazy afternoon
At least it was for a moment. I got most of the errands done, however, I had an additional one after the neighborhood flock of robins decided to attack my car only on the driver's side, right near the door handles.
I'm convinced they read this Far Side cartoon.
Hope you enjoy your Sunday wherever you are.

Sunday funnies
Disclaimer: I am one of those people who enjoys reading obituaries and wedding announcements. (A trait I inherited from both my parents, for whom this was a sport).
Some obits are sober and fact-filled. Others are downright entertaining. We occasionally have a good one here in RehabLand's Old Reliable News, but for regular reading, I always check the New York Times.
So needless to say when I read this lawyer and dentist's wedding announcement, at first, it looked pretty typical. However, when you read it all the way through, you see what is really important in life, even for a dentist.
Enjoy your day wherever you are! Remember, life is short, so make it memorable.
More later...

Today's Sunday stealing
Ahh, the fun of random questions. I answered a few of the bunch here this weekend.
Enjoy your day wherever you are!
What was the last thing you watched on television?
The news. Yes, I'm boring. And sports. (My kid is an ESPN junkie).
How old will you be in 12 months?
Really old...40 something.
Do you sleep naked?
Every once in a while.
Have you ever held hands with someone in a car?
Yes, all the time. I'm old fashioned.
Could you go the rest of your life without smoking a cigarette?
Yes, I have so far...so I'm keeping up my streak.
What do you say during awkward silences?
I learned to count to 10, then breathe.
When will you next see the last person you texted?
Probably Monday. I text our technical staff at work all the time because the cell signal in my building is wacky.
Honestly, when is the last time you have been to Texas?
2010 for a conference and to see some friends. Can't wait to go back for another conference, hopefully next year in big D where my high school friend now lives. We try to meet whenever we're in each other's neck of the woods, although, I made her drive to San Antonio last time.

Sunday silliness
Some tech folks just don't get it. Yes, I loved this SNL episode with Google Glass.
And if that weren't enough, check out this: White Men Wearing Google Glass. My favorite is still the guy in the shower.

I loved this video when I saw it. Another Oreo dismantling technique. Be sure to watch all the way to the end to see
the best splitting method.

The tradition..super
The reason women don't play football is because eleven of them would never wear the same outfit in public. ~Phyllis Diller
For many years, I actually got paid to watch Super Bowl commercials thanks to a guy named Bob and a job in a marketing department. (That was fun!)
Since I left that job almost a decade ago, now I just have to watch the commercials from home. When I first became a nurse, it seemed like my weekend to work was literally EVERY Super Bowl Sunday. So since I'm not there anymore, it was no surprise that the nurse manager (only half jokingly) asked if I wanted to work today.
It seems no one wants to work Super Bowl Sunday if they can be at home partying it up. Sometimes we get volunteers coming in for Super Bowl, but not always.
Nevertheless, the rehab nurses at the Hotel can totally love this Super Bowl cake photo. It will describe their evening shift...thanks to Cake Wrecks.
Stay tuned...and have a Supper bowl wherever you are.

Sunday night special
Oh, I can't wait until Monday. Dr. RPIA, one of the specialists I work with in the SU called Friday and left a message on my personal cell phone. Yes, I do actually have a phone in my office with voice mail, but I'm sure his/her ADD kicked in and he/she wanted a response immediately.
I'm sure s/he'll have a temper tantrum since someone in his clinic double booked him/her.
Hello not my problem, Doc. You can go to Helen Waite, our complaint specialist. Or sing the song below...
Heaven knows we can wait for another specialist like you to show up, since the last one lost his visa last month. Or we can make your chief start taking patients again.
Stay tuned...

I love old Bill Cosby.
He really had fun with his brother in this skit.
Sister Brunhilda Whatsername actually had us listen to the Noah's Ark skit in religion class.

Ah, Sunday!
The window on my week. The beginning, even if I'm not yet at work. If Sunday goes well, there is hope for the rest of the week.
And for a little light relief, I head on over to Sunday Stealing, to see what Sunday excitement they have.
Now, back to the music..and even one on Sunday.See you next week!

There must be glue on my chair
I just do not want to get up today.
Too much Scrabble and other computer pursuits...must get going! Too many things to do before going back to work!
And Bubba is ensconced by the TV waiting for football with his donuts.
Yes, indeed, it is Sunday.
Stay tuned.

Who says Sunday is a day of rest?
Not at the RehabRN household...at least for me.
No cleaning, lots of laundry and plenty of cooking: Endives with ham in bechamel sauce, leek, potato and carrot soup, cheddar beer bread, and stewed apples.
Now I can go back to work for a short week. Thank you relatives for inviting me (and the crew) to Thanksgiving dinner. We (especially me) appreciate it!

Some reruns
Are just classics, so if you haven't already seen Dr. Grumpy's latest Sunday Rerun, you just better run right on over and check out this week's version about insurance companies and bureaucracy.
It makes the Govermint look tame in comparison. Who'd have thought office folks would love Medicare?
Stay tuned...I'm relaxing and enjoying the weekend while it lasts.

Fun Sunday
This is for M., one of my dearest friends in the world who manages a pharmacy out west. She would have been a helluva math teacher if she hadn't decided to be a legal drug dealer for the Evil Empire.
